Juelz Santana is gearing up for the release of his upcoming album ‘Born to Lose, Built to Win’ but he’s planning to put out several mixtapes before he settles on a release date for the project. The rapper explained the details behind his recently release track ‘Sho Nuff’ and offered his opinion on A$AP Rocky as well as Azealia Banks.
Juelz explained that he’s looking to build the demand for his album and for the time being he’s only concerned with delivering music to his fans. “’Born to Lose, Built to Win,’ that’s going to be the title of my album. Probably drop a few more mixtapes in the meantime. Once the demand… right now I’m just putting out good music,” said Juelz.
Juelz also spoke about his recently released track ‘Sho Nuff’ and explained he was trying to get back to his sound with the song. “I felt like the song was just definitely just what I’m used to doing as far as where I come from. It’s not a sample beat but it still has that New York real driven feel… I could just rap slow on that sample I used from the movie ‘Last Dragon,’” Juelz told Pitchfork.
Juelz added that he doesn’t think A$AP Rocky or Azealia Banks reperesent Harlem. “No. We Harlem forever. But, you know, they doing they thing. When it comes to representing and embracing the essence of what Harlem represents, we do that,” said Juelz.
